Battlefield V launched to a very big PR mess the other day I think it’s fair to say, with the most vocal criticism being the usual screech of sad little White Guys upset that the “political agenda” (read: making a game fun for everyone and not just them) has been forced down their throats in a game where you can run…
Fallout 4 was a deeply polarising game in the Fallout franchise and a situation where I admittedly fall into the disappointed camp. That’s not to say the game was out and out terrible, far from it, as it actually improved regarding many elements of its transition to First Person back in ’08. Among these elements were…
In yet another demonstration of just why the BBC is struggling to attract viewers who aren’t interested in property or dance programmes the corporation, no doubt as a result of some internal dick measuring contest, has decided to scrap the immensely popular Robot Wars reboot after 3 series to make way for “new shows”.
For what’s meant to be the first look at the next Star Wars film I have to say if you hadn’t told me what this was I’d have thought it was a surprise Blade Runner spin-off given how more “out there” it looks compared to the more typical feel of a Wars film. Obviously that could be incredibly exciting and amazing but…
*Spoilers for Star Trek Discovery up to most recent episode*
So it’s io9s 10th Anniversary and I’ve just realised there’s no comprehensive list of where all the old guard have gone. Thinking it might be nice to have a post where we could collate what said writers are doing now. I know a few went back to Uni and others like CJA and Newitz went onto bigger and brighter things,…
The most recent batch of Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker’s largely dystopian anthology series of tech gone wrong, has finally been released onto Netflix and this group of six episodes is just as varied as the previous batch. The trouble is the Netflix model may already be showing some cracks.
Twice Upon A Time is the final “swansong” of Moffat’s most would agree too long tenure as the head of the BBC’s flagship science-fiction show and is very much the product of the last seven inconsistent years of the show. The nearly hour long affair is a piece that ranges from heartfelt character moments to schlocky…
Some of you may have noticed a new nice person on Jez in the last few days. She’s going round, talking about how much she loves your opinions and how much she values the site. It’s almost too good to be true.
J.K Rowling it seems could learn a little from her own books as today she added her voice to the very small list of those defending Johnny Depp’s casting in Fantastic Beasts 2 by issuing a very bad statement saying how great he is and that the abuser shouldn’t be removed from the film.
Welcome to the grand final of Robot Wars for 2017 and my god was that a phenomenal episode as we saw fight after fight of epic proportions.
So it seems that Meteor, after attempting and thankfully failing to bully Short off the site last week, though a suddenly created burner is now horrendously bullying her and is funnily enough saying the same disgusting things as Meteor did to her and writes in exactly the same manner, has resorted to her little habit…
Welcome back to Robot Wars after a two week absence due to tennis and to be honest most of this heat wasn’t worth the wait.
While Red Dwarf XIs finale Can of Worms may have been a rather unremarkable if well put together finale that’s certainly not the case in a finale that is truly a masterclass of nostalgia.
Welcome back to Robot Wars where today a combination of luck, mechanical failure, and sheer genius the joke robot of the revival managed to somehow win the heat.
And the straight after last week’s brilliant commentary on a current issue the show manages it twice in a row, this time switching out politics for technology.
So here we are after one year, six months, and three days we reach the end of the Stargate recap series.
Welcome back to Robot Wars and this week a well known egotist on the show once again went out a failure.
In tonight’s penultimate rewatch we have two perfectly watchable episodes. Nothing special but nothing terrible either.
It’s not secret I didn’t like the last episode but if that was the price to pay to get the absolute gem of an episode tonight then it was most definitely a price worth paying for what is probably the episode most likely to stand out this series.
