Looking for some input on helping a friend move a vehicle. 5 second photoshop of a 635 Ti for your time.
’04 996 40th anniversary car with the X51 package. I’m now the moron who bought a 113k mile 996, albeit a very clean example with a long service history and all of the appropriate recent services (clutch, IMS, water pump, coolant hoses, oil separator, etc). I’ll now begin holding my breath.
Fun enough movie, and the car selection was delightful, but I had to pause the movie when I ran across this scene with the Alfa Montreal, which I had been waiting to see the entire time.
And boy do I suddenly need a 996 in this color
Because all I want to do is play around in Photoshop instead of work on the pile of shit I neglected for the past two weeks.
Been tuned in for about 9 of the 12 hours. Wife hasn’t complained once, but she put up with sitting in the Mulsanne woods at 3am last summer, so if that didn’t trigger a complaint I’m not sure what would.
70% of households took the standard deduction on their Federal tax under the old standard deduction amounts.
Much to my chagrin, Houston does have some pretty cool cars from time to time on account of being a port city. On the other hand, this is a completely ruined, hideous example, so....Houston gonna Houston.
But I test drove this 996 Turbo yesterday and I’m suddenly questioning whether I need to spend 40% more on a Turbo than a base C2 to gain a whole bunch of speed and grip that I’ll use about 20% of on a regular basis. Age is catching up to me and I don’t appreciate it.
Edit: Ignore me, hadn’t put the car in neutral from 5th after breaking the pulley bolts free, for I am Costanza, lord of the idiots.
Timing belt on the Miata snapped this week and I just bought a house so I don’t have time to fix it right at this second, so I did the logical thing and bought an 18 year old truck with 184k miles on it to drive in the meantime.
Dril is apparently posting craigslist ads for BMWs now.
Oppo: outside of the obvious avenues like craigslist, ebay, and make-specific forums, do we have any community input on ways to move parts from parted-out vehicles quickly? I’m specifically looking for ways to move the big ticket items like engine, transmission, diffs, etc.
I find this oddly tempting.
But for now here are the cars from our campsite car park (please ignore the poor quality of composition, angles, and lighting. Most of these were taken in a rush and I was in a daze from having just driven down the Mulsanne straight):
1. The FIA issues a purportedly plainly-stated, easy to understand regulation.
